TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE FOR NORTH APPROACH ROADS TO SAVA BRIDGE

Consulting services included technical assistance to Project Implementation Unit (PIU) during the complete procurement process for selection of contractor for North approach roads LOT 1.


Project description

Approach roads to the new Sava Bridge are divided into two parts, the North approach roads (SPP) and South approach roads (PPP). North approach roads (SPP) are further divided into separate construction contract (LOT 1 and LOT 2). The consulting services were performed in two stages: (i) pre-qualification and (ii) tender preparation and selection of contractor.

Works on construction of SPP – LOT 1 extends Inner arterial ring road (UMP) from the north end of the UMP SPP LOT 2 up to Tošin bunar Street, and connects new bridge with the existing road and the tram network of New Belgrade. Works include the construction of approximately 500 m elevated double road with six lanes (two separate bridges / viaducts) including one intersection with two entrance exit ramps, 1500m long double road with six lanes and three junctions.

European Investment Bank is financing the construction works.


 ABOUT ISRR LOT 1

The new Sava Bridge (opened for traffic on January 1, 2012) and associated approach roads represent the first stage of the Belgrade Inner Arterial Ring Road (UMP), and have double carriageway with six traffic lanes according to the standards of urban highway.

- Evaluation of PQ Applications and preparation of list of qualified bidders which has to be approved by EIB
- Preparation of bidding documents for selection of contractor in Serbian and English language (Contract based on FIDIC Red Book)
- Organizing bid opening session
- Assistance and advising on evaluation of bids and preparation of evaluation report,
- Assistance in obtaining of the EIB’s approvals and in publishing of contract award notice
- All necessary correspondence with bidders and EIB from commencement up to completion of bidding procedure
