SUPERVISION FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION WORKS OF FORENSIC LABORATORY

The construction area supervised was 500 m2 for the needs of the extending the laboratory space of the National Crime-Technical Centre, the key forensic provider in the Serbian criminal proceeding system.


Project description

The objective of this project was to contribute to improving the efficiency and working conditions of the physical-chemical and toxicological laboratory in Effective safety system accordance with EU standards (ISO / IEC 17025:2006).

Through this project toxicology test laboratory was fully established and the conditions for improved work of forensic laboratories according to EU standards were achieved, and in this way, contributing to a fast process of attaining criminal justice in the country.

Space under the reconstruction was not used for laboratory purposes and technical requirements for installation of the equipment and normal everyday operation had to be applied:
- Electrical - installations to enable stable and continue electrical supply for the instruments that cannot stand supply variations.
- Water and sewage - installations to enable sufficient quality of water to be used and also protect the environment from possible pollution as a result of laboratory material used.
- Air-conditioning - installations to enable neutral atmosphere to not influence laboratory results.


 ABOUT THE SUPERVISION OF THE RECONSTRUCTION WORKS

In terms of physical-chemical laboratory space, before reconstruction NCTC’s chemical laboratory was working in a space of approximately 30 m2. After the reconstruction, the space was extended to approximately 500 m2.

  • Supervising the preparation of the detailed design on the basis of the already prepared functional specifications
  • Assist beneficiary and contractor in the preparation of implementation plans and time schedules

  • Establish and assist in QA/QC procedures
  • Examination and recommendation for Provisional Acceptance Certificate
  • Examination and recommendation for Final Acceptance Certificate
